Specialist Dyslexia Tuition
I offer specialist dyslexia tuition tailored to your child’s individual needs, helping them to build confidence, strengthen English and maths skills and develop effective strategies for learning in a way that feels supportive, fun and achievable.
Tuition is structured, engaging and multisensory, using a combination of visual, auditory and practical activities to help children learn in a way that suits them best. Lessons follow a structured and cumulative learning programme, where new skills are introduced gradually and built upon step by step, helping children feel secure in their learning.
A key part of sessions is overlearning, where important skills are revisited regularly so they become more secure and automatic over time. This is especially helpful for learners with dyslexia, who often benefit from repeated practice and opportunities to consolidate their learning.
Sessions are designed to be active and enjoyable. Children can expect to move around, take part in hands-on activities and use creative strategies such as making up mnemonics to support spelling and memory. Each session is carefully adapted to suit your child’s strengths, needs and learning style.
Specialist dyslexia tuition can support:
• Phonics and decoding
• Reading fluency and comprehension
• Spelling strategies
• Writing and written expression
• Handwriting
• Memory and organisational skills
• Mathematics support
The aim of tuition is not only to improve English and maths skills, but also to help your child feel more confident, capable and positive about their learning.

This support is particularly beneficial for students with dyslexia, helping them develop practical strategies to manage workload, organise their ideas and approach exams with greater confidence.

Sessions cover structured note-taking, mind mapping, time management, and essay planning. This support is particularly valuable for students with dyslexia, providing practical strategies to navigate university-level demands with confidence.
